Cookies we set
This page describes the cookies and similar technologies FinKut uses, and the choices you have.
Essential cookies
We use essential cookies and similar browser storage for login sessions, CSRF protection, security, preferences, rate limiting, and safe operation of the application. These technologies are necessary for core features and cannot be disabled through an optional marketing preference.
Cookie inventory and duration
Session and authentication cookies normally last only for the session or the period configured for account security. The CSRF cookie supports request protection. The cookie-preference record stores your choice for the period shown in your browser or until you clear it. The measurement cookie finkut_signup_source lasts up to 30 days. Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_*) last up to two years. The Meta pixel cookies (_fbp, _fbc) last 90 days and the X pixel cookies (_twpid, _twsid, _twclid) up to 13 months; X and Meta may also set cookies on their own domains. Names, domains, and durations can change when the application or security configuration changes; this page will be updated when a change is material.
Human verification
Registration, login, and contact forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile or a similar human-verification service to reduce automated abuse. The provider may process technical information required to evaluate a challenge.
Content loaded from other providers
Some parts of a page are requested directly from other providers by your browser. These requests do not set FinKut cookies, but the provider sees your IP address and browser details:
- Google Fonts and the jsDelivr content network (fonts and chart libraries);
- TradingView (interactive price chart widgets on company pages);
- Stripe and Link (the payment page and the billing portal, hosted on Stripe’s own domains, which set their own strictly necessary cookies);
- Cloudflare Turnstile, when human verification is enabled.
We also keep interface preferences, such as chart and screener layouts, in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device.
Measurement and marketing
We set one measurement cookie of our own, finkut_signup_source. When you first arrive through a campaign link or from another website, it remembers the campaign tags in that link, the name of the referring website, and the page you landed on, for up to 30 days. It contains no identifier for you or your device. If you create an account, this information is saved with the account so we can see which channels bring new users, and the cookie is removed. You can switch it off in the preferences on this page.
We use Google Analytics on the public pages of the site (the home, feature, pricing, legal, sign-up, login, and checkout pages) to count visits and see which pages are used. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* and sends Google the page address without its query string (campaign tags are kept), the referring address, and browser and device details. It also records three steps: that an account was created, that a checkout was opened, and that a checkout was completed, with the plan, its list price, and an order reference. We do not send your name, email address, or account content, we have switched off Google signals and advertising personalization, and it does not run for the research workspace behind the login. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, or we cannot tell where you are visiting from, Google Analytics stays off until you accept it in the cookie banner. Elsewhere it is on until you switch measurement off in the preferences on this page.
With Marketing allowed, the X and Meta advertising pixels run on the public pages (not in the research workspace) so we can see which ads lead to new accounts and subscriptions, and so X and Meta can show our ads to people who visited. They set the cookies listed below and send X and Meta the page address, the referring address, browser and device details, and these events: that the pricing page was viewed, that checkout was opened for a plan (plan list price), that an account was created, and that a subscription or trial was started (plan list price and an order reference). They are left off pages whose address carries anything other than campaign tags, ad click identifiers, the plan picked on the pricing page, the page to return to after login, or a checkout reference. We do not send your name, email address, or account content, and Meta’s automatic event collection and advanced matching are switched off.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, or we cannot tell where you are visiting from, the pixels stay off until you switch Marketing on in the cookie banner or on this page. Elsewhere they run until you switch Marketing off here, and they stay off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. Switching Marketing off removes the pixel cookies set on our domain.
Partner links
When you arrive through a FinKut partner's link (an address with ?via=), we set one cookie of our own, finkut_aff, that remembers which partner sent you and when, for up to 30 days. If you create an account in that time, the account is credited to that partner so we can pay their commission, and the cookie is removed. It holds no identifier for you or your device, and the partner never sees your name, email address, or account.
It belongs to Measurement, together with finkut_signup_source. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, or we cannot tell where you are visiting from, neither is set until you accept measurement in the cookie banner or on this page. Elsewhere they are set until you switch measurement off here. A visit through a partner link is also counted as a click for that partner, without a cookie and without any detail about you.
Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent login, registration, contact forms, checkout, or dashboard features from working. Contact us with questions about the technologies used on your visit.
