FinKut vs Qualtrim
Two tools for long-term investors: one reads filings and calls with sources, the other is cheap, visual and portfolio-focused.

Two different approaches
FinKut reads a company's filings and calls. In a 10-K, the business, financials, risks, management and outlook are summarized in separate sections, and each finding shows the quote it rests on. The operating KPIs mentioned on every analyzed earnings call are listed with period, value and change; 13F and congressional trades are in the same place.
Qualtrim shows a company's long-term picture visually: more than 30 years of revenue, earnings and cash flow charts, KPI charts chosen by its team, DCF and portfolio tracking. A subscription also includes an exclusive Discord community and Joseph Carlson Show episodes.
What does the AI do?
In FinKut every output is tied to a source: 10-K findings come with their quotes, call points with the sentence in the transcript, chat answers with numbered sources. Each piece of guidance on a call is compared with the previous call, and each of management's answers is marked direct, partial or evasive.
In Qualtrim, AI writes about moats and risks, summarizes earnings calls and reviews your portfolio. By Qualtrim's own disclaimer these outputs may not always be accurate; its pages do not describe citations or a chat you can ask questions in.
Pricing
FinKut has a free plan with no card and a 14-day money-back guarantee, so you can try it in your own workflow before paying. Qualtrim has no free plan and purchases are not refunded; to try it, there is a 7-day trial on the monthly plan.
On paid price, Qualtrim is ahead: $99 a year against $299 for FinKut Researcher. Everything in Qualtrim comes in one package.

Frequently asked questions
Qualtrim or FinKut?
Choose FinKut if you want to see what a filing or call actually says, with its source, assess management's answers and follow 13F and congressional trades. Choose Qualtrim if you want a cheap, visual tool with portfolio tracking and a community.
Does FinKut have a free plan?
Yes, and no card is needed: 30 chat messages, 4 filing-analysis credits and 2 call analyses a month, with the screener, chart builder, 13F and congressional trades open too. Qualtrim has no free plan; the monthly plan has a 7-day trial and purchases are not refunded.
Which one is cheaper?
On paid plans, Qualtrim: $9.99 a month or $99 a year. FinKut's paid plans start at $29.99 a month; on the other hand, FinKut has a free plan and Qualtrim does not.
How does FinKut analyze a 10-K?
Every 10-K analysis opens with an investor assessment, followed by seven sections: summary, business, financials, risks, management, capital and markets, and outlook. Findings come with the quotes they rest on, charts are drawn from the filing's own numbers, and the original filing opens on SEC EDGAR. 10-Q analyses put the executive summary, management's view, outlook, risks, legal matters and investor questions in separate tabs. A filing without a ready analysis can be analyzed with credits: 3 for a 10-K, 1 for a 10-Q.
What does FinKut show for an earnings call?
Every piece of guidance management gives, with its range, its direction against the previous call (new, raised, maintained, lowered) and the analyst estimate next to it. Each answer to an analyst question is marked direct, partial or evasive. With sources, it also lists red flags checked against the 10-Q, such as one-off items, non-GAAP emphasis or quietly lowered expectations, the KPIs mentioned on the call, and topics discussed more or less than before. The earnings surprise, the direction of guidance and the market reaction are calculated from data.
Does FinKut have KPI data?
Yes. The operating KPIs mentioned on every analyzed earnings call (such as subscribers or store count) are listed with period, value and change, each tied to the sentence it was said in. Segment revenue by product and region is in the chart builder, and products and segments appear in the business tree of the 10-K analysis.
What other tools does FinKut have?
Reflex (early access: ask the same questions of up to 25 companies at once), a chart builder, a stock screener, peer comparison, analyst estimates and DCF, news intelligence, 13F institutional holdings, congressional trading and research reports. Some are open as previews on Free, some from Researcher up.
